What to Look for in a Backpacking Stove
There are many options in backpacking stoves. A stove can be a useful item to have on your trip, but many people simply can not figure out what type of stove to choose. The following explains the different options and should help you to figure out what stove you should choose for your next backpacking trip.
Backpacking stoves consist simply of the burner, fuel tank and pot supports. The weight may range from about 1 to 2 ounces for simple alcohol stoves, 11 to 14 ounces for MSR-type stoves (without fuel weight) and canister stoves (with gas cartridge), and up to one pound for larger stoves. Backpacking stoves come in a variety of models and some will burn practically any type of fuel. So, you can still get a warm meal while preventing overuse and forest fires. Backpacking stoves are a marvel of modern engineering. Complex beast with all sorts of bells and whistles, they put out an amazing amount of heat for such a small package.
You want to choose a stove that meets your needs. You don’t want too big of a stove or too small of a stove. You have to really think about your own needs when making a choice, but there are some basics that every backpacking stove should have. It needs to be sturdy. A sturdy stove is a safe stove. You may not always have a flat smooth area to set your stove so you also need to make sure it has strong legs and will be stable enough to stir a post without the pot or stove tipping over. You also need a stove that is easy to use. It should be easy to fold up and set up. It should be easy to hook up the fuel and unhook the fuel. You need to be able to understand how to adjust the heat, too. It should fold up to be very compact so it does not take up too much space in your backpack. You also may want to get a stove with a built in wind screen. This helps in windy conditions to keep the stove lit and allow you to continue to cook. The bottom line is you want a stove that is easy and safe to use.
Your cook stove is something that is supposed to save you time. It should not be hard to set up or use. You should be able to cook on the stove that you choose with confidence. What is good for you may not necessarily be what is good for someone else. So, you can listen to recommendations, but you also have to focus on what you need. Look at a variety of stoves and choose the one that will work for you.
How do you stop a bird from crapping on your wind-screen?
Don't let her near your car again!

Ignoring the cheap shot....cover the windscreen with a tarp.
You could also get a life, michael.
WAR HORSE Review (Rama's Screen)
GRADE: 3 out of 5 Beautifully shot, yes! Wonderful story, absolutely! Plus
it's a war movie that you can take your family to, but,.. WAR HORSE is
underwhelming, it gets lost in trying too hard to be a tearjerker so much so
that I hardly feel its emotional power. You can definitely label WAR HORSE
