does anyone know why my road buggy solonoid clicks but doesnt turn?

I have had this buggy for a year it is a quadzilla 250e road legal buggy. I took it out for a spin last year and there was an almighty crunch almost like something had seixed. I took of the startor motor and it was all broken up inside. I have since put a new one on of the exact make and i am getting a clunk from the soloniod but not firing up. I know theres a number of things to check but what is the more likely one. at present it has no reverse cable as i is only a forward reverse gear. And i read that it could possibly be the gear or flywheel that has jammed. also the rear indicator lights have now stopped working. so could the whole thing be a bad earth or could it possibly be something more severe? sorry to babble!

Are you sure the motor itself is not locked up? I hate answering your question with a question of my own but thats kinda what it sounds like to me..... a locked up engine.
