Getaway to the Paramount's Carowinds Amusement Park in Charlotte
Spending some of your North Carolina vacations at Paramounts Carowinds Theme Park will not only have you glad you did but your children will say you are the best thing ever!
If you have children under 5 years of age don't think there is little for them to enjoy, there is the Nickelodeon center where the kids can take a train ride with Dora the Explorer's Azul or soar, dive and swirl with Danny-Phantom. Hugs are the part of the experience for the little children with the life-size Nickelodeon characters throughout the theme park.
With children from 6 - 12 everyone can keep them happy by either watching some of the live concerts that occur throughout the theme park all day or visit Nickelodeon-Central where there are more than twenty rides for their peer group. They can even ride Scooby Doo's Haunted Mansion! They will love to plunge into twenty acres of excitement in the theme park. There are fun rides that they will enjoy - even one that takes you 320 feet up in the sky! There is the "Wild mouse" roller coaster that will give your children a real thrill or the Scream-Weaver - Gondolas which spin in a horizontal position and shoots into the vertical position, skyrocketing riders into upside down orbit. Including all these and many more choices for the children they will be entertained from the moment you enter in until you ultimately force them to depart at the close of the day!
For teens between twelve - eighteen the excitement never ends. They will experience the Nighthawk, the flying coaster and highest one in the theme park or the Rip Roarin' Rapids with the white-water raging rafting you can experience in a 6 person craft (and get really, really wet). Of course there are the bumper-cars that are a favorite of many children. Now envision them on the Thunder Road which is a forward and backward roller coaster. They may need to plunge down a forty-five foot waterfall to the pool of water below (an excellent way to cool down on a steamy day.) There are so many attractions and rides for everyone that they may demand you to come back with them the next day!
As parents you may feel that you want to sit back and watch the kids have all the fun...BZZZZZ! Get out there with them, convince them into riding on the Xtreme SkyFlyer with you and experience the excitement of skydiving as everyone is lifted one-hundred-fifty-three feet in the air and then yank the ripcord for a fifty foot free-fall at 60 mph. (you must be extraordinarily brave for this one and it does require an additional charge.)
If that isn't enough for you then visit the Drop Zone where you will experience a 56 mph 100 ft. free-fall. Probably don't want a full stomach just before you do this, could get messy!
The Hurler is the wooden rollar-coaster that reaches 50 mph with thrilling dips and turns.
This is only the beginning of the excitement that awaits you and your family in Piedmont on your North Carolina Piedmont vacation!
There is also a twenty-five acre Carowinds campground with approximately 200 campsites, and fifeteen rental cabins for those that want to stay nearby. For reservations call 704-587-9116 or 1-800-888-4386 ext. 2116
