My Infinity Basslink cuts out when I start the engine.?
I recently installed the unit to a Sony BT-2500 but had to use the in-line speaker wires because there was no pre-outs on the head unit (a mistake I won't make again). When the vehicle starts and the head unit shuts down for that brief moment the BassLink will come back on for about 10 sec then shut down. I have tested the remote lead and it operates fine , there are no blown fuses and the unit seems to operate while the vehicle is in the ACC position. BassLink offers an Auto-On feature that I fear may be the culprit but I have read/re-read the instructions and re-installed the system to no avail. I wouldn't call myself a novice but this one's got me stumped. Anyone else have a similar problem????
Bad earth connections can cause problems. Also check that your alternator isn't kicking out to much voltage. My daughters car had a problem where the alternator was kicking out 17+ volts. radio cut out when engine was revved, eventually blew in-line fuse., also blew the head lights, damaged the immobiliser & boiled the battery. hence ok in acc position, goes off when engine started.
